Postdoctoral Position in Neural Tissue Engineering Available to Start ASAP!

Job Description: A post-doctoral position in the laboratory of Stephanie Seidlits in the Department of Bioengineering at UCLA is available (start date ASAP). We are seeking candidates for a multidisciplinary project developing tissue-engineered models of midbrain tissue as platforms for screening therapeutics. The project will use biomaterial cultures with multi-organ-on-a-chip microphysiological systems. While the primary appointment is in the Seidlits lab, this is a highly collaborative project involving researchers at UCLA (Khademhoesseini and Maidment labs) and at Cedars Sinai (Svendsen lab). Please see project-related publications (PMID: 29576540, PMID: 28265064, PMID: 30615255) for more information. Specific responsibilities for the position include planning, execution and analysis of research studies, preparation of data for papers, grants and reporting to granting agencies, writing papers for publication.

Self-motivated candidates who hold a PhD or equivalent degree in an appropriate area are welcome to apply. Candidates must have experience in mammalian cell culture, and preferably primary neuron or stem cell culture. Experience in analysis of RNA sequencing data, biomaterials, molecular neuroscience and/or microfluidics is desired. Salary and benefits (including health insurance) will be provided according to UCLA policies (https://grad.ucla.edu/funding/working-at-ucla/postdocs/appointment-types-criteria/).

How to Apply: Applicants may email their CV (including primary interests, research experience, and technical expertise) and contact information for three references to Prof. Stephanie Seidlits (seidlits@g.ucla.edu).
